NEW YORK, NY – July 27, 2010 – Venture outside the theater district for exceptional pre-show dining, at GILT in The New York Palace Hotel. Experience a two-Michelin Star meal in the luxe dining room, or cocktails and small plates at Palace Gate, the 75 seat outdoor lounge in the hotel’s courtyard. The finishing touch – being ushered to the Theater District, just in time for the opening act.
Guests can relax at Palace Gate and enjoy after work cocktails and bites, such as Truffle Potato Fries with Garlic Herb Aioli, and catch an early shuttle at 5:15 p.m. or 6:00 p.m., or leisurely dine at GILT before and reserve a shuttle ride at 6:45 or 7:30 p.m. GILT restaurant’s three-course prix fixe theater menu is not only a stellar experience but also an exceptional value at $55.00 per person, not including beverages, tax or gratuity. Diners are free to choose any starter, entrée and dessert from the full menu, with offerings including Foie Gras with Pancetta Spice, Kumquat Mostarda, Candied Black Olive, Fennel and Pine Nuts and Columbia River Sturgeon with Flavors of Borscht, Horseradish, Caviar and Dill.
Pre-theater diners can take advantage of GILT’s outstanding menu and private shuttle service simply by making a reservation with the concierge. Guests who would like to participate are seated between 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm in order to complete their meal by 7:30 pm. Each transfer can accommodate up to 13 passengers. The shuttle stops at two drop off points, which are at the intersections of 51st Street and 7th Avenue, and 45th Street and 7th Avenue. Reservations for the theater transfer service are taken on a first come first serve basis.
The Dining Room at GILT is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with seating starting at 5:30 pm. Outside of the pre-theater pre-fixe, a three-course prix-fixe dinner is offered for $89, and a five-course tasting menu is available for $110 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday, and 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Friday and Saturday. GILT Bar is open seven nights a week starting at 4:00 pm. Palace Gate is located in the courtyard and is open from 4:00pm to 10:30pm daily.
