The New York Palace is looking for an experienced Corporate Sales Manager to join our team of professionals.
The individual is responsible for the profitable development of revenue for West Coast Corporate Transient Sales and Entertainment Sales by proactive sales efforts in retaining and developing existing customers within this market.  In addition to the West Coast Corporate market, this individual will also be responsible for both group and transient business coming out of Latin America.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Business Planning and Sales & Marketing
    • To concentrate his/her effort in "selling" rooms
    • Conduct Sales visits and maintain good working relationship with the following Corporate Travel Managers, Business Travel Agents, Tour and Group Meeting planners in Latin America
    • Prepare proposals/contracts in a timely fashion. Maximum turnaround time - 24 hours
    • Pass all information on signed contracts to Revenue Manager to ensure rates are loaded
    • Conduct entertainment and site inspection for all customer contacts
    • Sales visit and entertainment with corporate clients
    • Develop new markets/source of business for Corporate Transient sales, Entertainment sales, and Group/Transient sales in Latin America
    • Come up with new ideas on products and marketing of product such as: meeting packages, promotion offers
      To attend tradeshows/sales trips both locally and beyond
    • Take up special assignments instructed by Director of Corporate Transient Sales
  • Communication
    • Maintain close communication with Director of Corporate Transient Sales
    • Maintain effective communication channel with Revenue Manager and Reservations Manager
    • Follow up with clients and coordinate with internal operations department on lead until contract is signed
    • Attend Sales Meetings
    • Pass all necessary information of a signed deal to Revenue Manager and Reservations Manager to handle
    • Coordinate on special familiarization groups
    • Market Intelligence
    • Regular update on competitors offers and markets intelligence and shares the information with sales team
    • Regular update on Trade shows and shares the information with sales team for follow up

Job Qualifications:

  • At least 4 year working experience with minimum 2 years at Sales Manager position or above.
  • Working experience in handling Corporate Transient and Entertainment is a must.
  • Experience in same position is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of RFP process.
  • Professional Training in Hotel Sales Office and Front Office.
  • University or post-graduate diploma or equivalent professional hotel training is required.
  • Computer knowledge on: Word, Excel and PowerPoint is a must. Delphi and Opera are a plus.
  • Well organized and a good planner.
  • Prompt and systematic decision making skills with analytical power.
  • Independent & ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good team player & able to develop sound working relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Good delegation & interpersonal skills.
  • Sensitive and reacts fast to market trend and situation.
  • Pleasant and outspoken.
  • Has good communication network in the industry.
  • Testimonial from customer or previous employer is a definite advantage.
  • Spanish or Portuguese skills are advantageous.
